The idea of mobile society has seen drastic changes over the past decade. Mobile phones have progressed from being a single function device to a multi-faceted and lifestyle oriented device which allow users to stay connected, anytime, anywhere. S i2i is determined to be a significant part of the digital revolution.

To achieve this, we have made significant progress by expanding our footprint through brand acquisitions of 'Nexian' in Indonesia, 'Wellcom' in Thialand and the Greater Mekong Sob-region, 'CSL' in Malaysia and the creation of the ‘S’ brand in Singapore. With our new acquisitions, we now have access to more than 3,200 outlets in Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia. These will soon be consolidated under one single digital "S" brand, allowing us to exploit our global supply chain.

Significantly, the brand acquisitions provide us a ready platform to pre-load our wide range of mobile internet applications onto phones directly sold to consumers. These include the incorporation of entertainment, information, healthcare, financial, transactional and other Value Added Services (VAS) onto our upcoming models of phones. Together with potential revenues from advertising, this provides us another avenue to enhance value growth.

As the industry becomes increasingly commoditised, it will be up to enterprises like S i2i to bridge the gap between sleek hardware features and innovative software solutions that will satisfy the evolving needs of consumers. Indeed, we intend to create a whole "S" brand internet lifestyle for users of our products.

CSL - Acquired in March 2010

  • Established in 1998
  • A group of companies which engage in the production and sale of mobile phones, mobile devices, net-book and notebook businesses in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia.
  • Established Malaysian brands with 21 branches throughout Malaysia and a sales network of more than 2600 shops.

WellcoM Mobile - Acquired in December 2010

  • Established in 2004
  • Leading producer, distributor and wholesaler of mobile phones in Thailand; sold more than 700,000 units in 2010.
  • The WellcoM Mobile brand is well recognized in Thailand –It is the 2nd largest domestic player and 4th largest overall.
  • It  has an extensive sales network - 62 WellcoM partners (W-Partners), 3,079 dealers of W-Partners, 37 Well Care shops for customer care.

Nexian - Acquired in May 2011

  • One of the leading mobile handset brands in Indonesia.
  • Distributed throughout Indonesia through retail shops and other non-traditional channels such as hypermarkets.
  • Winner of Golden Ring Award for best entry level phone in 2010 and most favourited local brand in 2009.
